Good afternoon everyone.
Today’s let’s unravel the biggest myth of all time: Perfection
It has an arbitrary definition; it’s different for everyone. It’s something we all strive for. Something that we want in everyone and everything. The perfect man, the perfect lady, the perfect job,the perfect life. And if we don’t have all that, then we curse God and ourselves, thinking that either we’re worthless or we’re under-rewarded.
I read a quote by Eugene Delacroix today,
“The person who aims at perfection in everything, achieves it in nothing.”
This is so true. We spend so much time and energy finding ‘perfection’ that we lose ourselves. Remember friends,
Don’t look for perfection; look for yourself.
We tend to get upset, thinking that we’re not perfect. A few years ago, even I was affected. It upset me when I thought that I wasn’t much of a sportsman and wasn’t as quick or agile as other kids. But mum showed me how to look at all my other characteristics that others didn’t have. This made me realise something.
We’re all perfect. We’re all unique.
Comparing one person to another is unwise. And feeling undermined because you’re being compared is just gullibility.
Stop getting undermined just because you can’t do something that someone else can. Instead of being upset over something that you can’t do; why don’t you think about something that you can do? I can guarantee that you have a hundred things that your ‘perfect’ idol cannot.
And never compare your life to anyone else’s. No matter how perfect their life seems, you’ve got no idea what they’re going through.
We usually say that we wish such troubles didn’t exist for us.
If we were given the chance to exchange them with someone else and see others bags of troubles; we’d pick our bag up.
You are perfect. Your life is beautiful. So, smile and go live your life.
