Good afternoon everyone!
As we lose our weekend joviality, let’s talk about Loss today.
We all lose. Lose something that’s dear to us. Something that we love more than life. And losing that thing puts us into a void. A void out of which it’s extremely hard to get out of.
Nothing hurts like the loss of a loved one. We curse God for taking the person from us. We don’t want to accept the fact that the person is no more with us and refuse to let go. We do the exact opposite of what we’re supposed to do: Live.
I know it’s hard to let go. It’s the hardest thing. And it is in such situations that we have to think through our mind; not our heart. I know that it seems harsh. But it’s necessary.
We have to think,
Is our crying and despondent going to bring back that person?
Is our erratic behaviour something that that person would like?
“Not letting go, is the anchor that is preventing the ship of your life sailing towards your destination”
Just remember friends, Life must go on. You have your entire life ahead of you. Yes, you lost someone close and yes, that hurts. But that’s life! And you have to accept that! Your ignorance to accept it, will only hurt your life, in more ways than you think. Closure is the best thing to do in such a situation.
Paulo Coelho wrote in The Alchemist,
“Everything is maktub”
Maktub means ‘It is written’. And it’s the truest thing. So if a person was meant to be in your life, he/she would be there. If he’s not there, that means he’s not meant to be.
My advice to you is simply this,
Don’t hold your life back by something that’s no longer a part of your life.
For every person that you lose, you have a hundred people who love you.
So, why don’t you think about them and be with them and smile?
Stop cursing God. Stop cursing yourself. Stop cursing Life.
Just count your blessings. Know that you’re blessed. Smile. And Live.
